American Able

Photographer Holly Norris and model Jes Sasche
We think this is really good, we too are tired of MEDIA BULLYING.
Look like this, wear this, eat this, buy this..eugh .................ENOUGH ALREADY!!!!!

The series is in response to American Apparel claiming to use everday women as models, the campaigns are highly sexualised and the woman are not 'everyday'.
Most women with disabilites feature to the public as asexual or undesirable, the invisibility of women with disabilities in many ways denies them the right to sexuality, particularly within a public context.

Too often, the pervasive influence of imagery in mass media goes unexamined, consumed unquestioningly by the public. However, this imagery has real, oppressive effects on people who are continuously ‘othered’ by society (and normal women as well)
